Fritz Gebhardt, President of GEBHARDT Fördertechnik, invited the various partner companies of the NDIA project in Doha, Qatar as well as members of the German Chamber of Commerce in Doha and representatives from the Federal Republic of Germany's Embassy. The 2 day event created a unique networking opportunity for local members of the Qatari, German and Logistics Industries. Many current issues in the Materials Handling industry where addressed as well as the roll of the middle east in the developing logistics market.
The weekend was not only a success for strengthening the partnerships and increasing knowledge but it could have not have been more successful for the GEBHARDT Motorsport team either. After 14 years of being away, the GEBHARDT team came back to run three races and walked away with 3 wins. GEBHARDT was honored to have two-time Qatar National Rally Champion, Saadon Al Kuwari, who lead the way and won both Porsche GT3 Silver Cup races along with the Qatar National Cup race.
This year's GEBHARDT Fördertechnik International Come Together Meeting set the bar high for the ears to come but GEBHARDT's next generation of intralogistics is ready for the challenge.

New solar power plant in Neulandstraße

Sinsheim, 17th May 2010 – On Monday 17.05.2010 at 4:30 pm the time has come, the 1st construction phase of the photovoltaic system is complete and connected to the mains grid. The developed roof space on Hall 1 and 8 delivers an output of approx. 260 kWp. This equates to an annual yield of approx. 254,000 kWh and an annual CO2 reduction of approx. 152,880 kg. It is not only one of the largest plants in the area but also a true visual attraction with its specially constructed substructure.
Here are a few facts, expressed in figures.
A four-person family consumes approx. 4,000 kWh, which means that the first Gebhardt construction phase supplies approx. 60 households in Sinsheim with electricity from the power of the sun.
The CO2 reduction roughly equates to the emissions from 86 Fiat Pandas or 50 Mercedes E class 220 CDI with a CO2 output of 119/154 g/km and an annual mileage of approx. 15,000/20,000 km.
Performance: 1. phase = 260 kWp - upon completion = approx. 880 KWp.
Modules: 1,233 Schüco modules from the MPE 205 range
Module inclination: 658 upright units facing 20° south and 575 horizontal units
Convertor: SMA

Presentation of the global innovation GEBHARDT StoreBiter 300 in Stuttgart

Sinsheim, 11.03.2010 - GEBHARDT Fördertechnik, Sinsheim, concluded a number of different projects - at home and abroad - for internal material flow systems during the first month of the current year, as well as tackling new orders from a range of areas. The spectrum ranges from the modernisation and refurbishment of existing systems including the integration of new components - for example at Volkswagen in Norderstedt - right through to comprehensive solutions for integrated storage and conveyance systems such as those at Polo Motorradzubehör in Jüchen and STIHL Motorsägen in Dieburg. GEBHARDT Fördertechnik successfully employs its comprehensive competence in the field of internal material flows right through to system control and complete IT integration, through which the company has become a market leader after over 58 years.
At this year's LogiMAT trade fair for distribution, material and information flows, GEBHARDT Fördertechnik presented a global first in the field of warehouse systems. The product is an aisle stacker that clearly distances itself from the competition due to the innovative SEW drive technology and the technical design.
The extensive visitor interest allowed the GEBHARDT trade fair team hardly any time to take care of the prominent visitor from Sinsheim, Lord Mayor Rolf Geinert, and chairman of VOBA Kraichgau Thomas Geier. Approx. 600 exhibition visitors were welcomed by GEBHARDT Fördertechnik during the 3 days of the trade fair.

GEBHARDT Fördertechnik - 2010: A year full of risks and opportunities

Sinsheim, 01.03.2010 - GEBHARDT Fördertechnik GmbH, Sinsheim, concluded a number of different projects - at home and abroad - for internal material flow systems during the first month of the current year, as well as tackling new orders from a range of areas. The spectrum ranges from the modernisation and refurbishment of existing systems including the integration of new components - for example at Volkswagen in Norderstedt - right through to comprehensive solutions for integrated storage and conveyance systems such as those at Polo in Jüchen and STIHL in Dieburg. GEBHARDT Fördertechnik successfully employs its comprehensive competence in the field of internal material flows right through to system control and complete IT integration, through which the company has become a market leader after over 58 years.
Container conveyance systems on the basis of the System 300 were planned and installed for the Polish company TIM, wholesaler for electrical installations in Breslau, as well as for the wholesale store Uni Elektro with its head office in Eschborn near Frankfurt. An integrated GEBHARDT material flow solution supports POLO mail order in delivering parts from a 15,000 item range of motorbike accessories and motorbike clothing to its catalogue and internet customers. For Stihl, GEBHARDT acted as the general contractor in the design of the new distribution centre in Dieburg. The scope of supply included the material flow system encompassing an automatic small parts store with 2 aisle stackers, as well as the system control and material flow computer. The logistics centre of the world's leading manufacturer of fans and motors for air-conditioning and ventilation systems, EBM-Papst in Mulfingen, was equipped with an articulated belt conveyor system, the control of which is connected to SAP via the GEBHARDT Connector.
A System 500 conveyor system transports pallets with parts to the outgoing goods area of Geberit, Pfullendorf, world-leading manufacturer of bath and sanitary equipment. With this system, ergonomic workstations were a primary focus. In the ©-Log distribution centre on the French Atlantic coast, an integrated conveyance and warehouse solution in the incoming goods area accepts the supplied boxes with clothing textiles and stores them automatically, readies the requisite storage boxes in the order preparation area, takes care of return transfers with partial withdrawals, supplies the sorting system for order implementation and transports the packaged boxes through packaging to dispatch.
Following a good start the prospects for the second half of the year are highly promising on the basis of the current order situation at home and in particular abroad.

High speed and efficiency for automatic small parts storage through innovative warehouse technology.

Stuttgart / Sinsheim, 2nd March 2010 – GEBHARDT Fördertechnik presents innovative warehouse technology for increasing the speed and efficiency when accessing container compartments in a high bay storage system at the LogiMat 2010. On the 100 m2 stand (Hall 1, Stand 930) an automatic small parts store was presented with a 10 metre long and 2 metre high single depth shelf row, in order to accurately demonstrate the futuristic technology of automated warehouse access by means of the
with load carrying equipment.
In the warehouse aisle the latest generation of GEBHARDT shuttle technology ensures speed and efficiency when intaking and outputting containers weighing up to 50 kg. The power supply is based on contactless energy transfer. The load carrying equipment (LCE) on the
is equipped with a lift mechanism and a multi-claw grabber with the latest telescopic technology.

The GEBHARDT shuttle technology ensures rapid access to containers and boxes in automatic small parts stores. Due to the modular design it is possible to place multiple
units on top of each other in a single aisle. This results in the throughput being increased many times over.
Due to complete integration into the company's IT and the connection with the stock management system, e.g. via the SAP interface GEBHARDT Connector® 3.0, all processes are constantly controlled and an overview in the warehouse is guaranteed.
